Membership Applications for the Central European Diabetes Association/ Federation of International Danube Symposia on Diabetes mellitus (FID)

FID Travel Grants   


Beginning with 2004, FID offers the opportunity for a travel grant for those who want to participate at the symposia of the Federation of International Danube-Symposia on Diabetes Mellitus and the congresses of the Central European Diabetes Association. The travel grants are for those who want to join our scientific events and present their research results. This way, we would like to allow information exchange and promote collaborations between FID-countries.


Terms and conditions for the candidates applying for a travel grant:
- active members or candidates who are about to become a member (10 Euro annual fee)
- age below 40 years
- the applicant must be author of an accepted abstract at the congress.
            Maximal amount for a travel grant is Euro 500.
           

 

FID "Fellowship grants" ("Hospitation- Stipendien")


Since 2004, FID offers grants for a temporary fellowship with a maximum length of 3 months in a foreign country. The fellowship has to take place in a hospital or university clinic of one of the FID's countries for the purpose of medical education and/or research in the area of diabetes. The program aims at enlarging exchange possibilities within institutions inside the “FID- area”.


Terms and conditions for the applicants:
- active FID member or candidate applying for membership (10 Euro annual fee)
-  below the age of 45 years
- invitation from the guest-institution and existence of a fellowship schedule.


The maximal amount is EURO 1500 for each application and applicant. During 2004, 2005 and 2008 we have already offered several such grants.
